Windows Server 2003 end-of-life
What does “End-of-Life” mean?
What does “End-of-Life” mean?
Windows Server 2003 support ended in 2015, with no more patches or security updates from Microsoft. (small title text)
Windows Server 2003 and its variants (R2 and Small Business Server) have ended support and will no longer receive security updates or patches from Microsoft. This makes the OS vulnerable to security threats and non-compliant in audits. Paid support is no longer available.
Why is it ending?
The cost of maintaining an outdated server can escalate rapidly over time. Upgrading to a newer, more secure operating system is advisable to ensure compliance with current security standards and to take advantage of modern security architecture. With the end of support for Windows Server 2003, it’s time to move on from a legacy server that may be becoming increasingly costly to maintain.
